Design Brief

The Ritz-Carlton Reserve at Cotton Bay proposes a luxury hospitality model that is deeply integrated with the natural and cultural landscape of Eleuthera. The project is located on a 130-hectare site along the island’s coastline and includes 110 guest rooms, 97 branded residences, 54 unbranded residential lots, and a variety of amenities. These elements are set among areas of jungle, beach, hillside with ocean views, and a golf course.

The architecture integrates natural and cultural references from The Bahamas: the lobby incorporates shapes on its design that reference the island’s rock formations, while the spa features hexagonal forms inspired by the patterns of pineapple cultivation. Materials and construction techniques are informed by Taíno traditions and adapted to the tropical climate. A highlight of the project is the golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones II, which reinterprets the layout of the original Cotton Bay Club. The project blends local identity with contemporary comfort, fostering a strong relationship between architecture, nature, and hospitality. Completion is anticipated in 2027.
